Light gold in colour and very clear. Aroma is very light and subtle with a pleasant hints of hops. The taste is refreshing, crisp and slightly sweet. A light lager smack at the end with some lingering hops.
Best enjoyed well chilled with a slice of lime. Great with hot and spicy food.

Tyrrell's reputation as a producer of fine aged fortifieds goes back as early as 1889 with Dan Tyrrell who grew, traded and blended an incredible range of fortified wines. It was rumoured “Uncle Dan” had one of the finest sherry palates in the country.
Tyrrell’s fortified range has given way to table wines over the years but it is still represented by the highly popular Special Aged Tawny.
Special Aged Tawny is showing medium amber/brown colour and is in brilliant condition. The raisin-like nose is given more intensity by a slight spirit lift. The palate has rich fruit and good acid, which provides a well balanced finish. The ageing process for the Special Aged Tawny produces a traditional sweet tawny style that is ready for immediate drinking. It can best be enjoyed with rich desserts, confectionary, cakes, sweet meats, and blue vein and other hard cheeses. |
