Since arriving in Australia in 1961, Wolf Blass has always used the image of the eaglehawk as a source of pride and inspiration. In 1966 when Wolf Blass started building his own winery he named it Bilyara, the Aboriginal word for Eaglehawk and to this day the image of the eaglehawk is synonymous with Wolf Blass wines around the world.
The Eaglehawk Cabernet Sauvignon displays attractive spice, mint and berry fruit aromas with a hint of supporting oak. The palate is rich with varietal flavours of blackcurrant and mint, with a soft lingering finish. Roast lamb or your favourite pasta dish. |
The Eaglehawk Chardonnay is light straw in colour with a vibrant youthful hue. The bouquet is typical of Australian chardonnay with tropical melon and peach characters and subtle oak integration. The palate is medium weight with rich fruit flavours and a backbone of supporting French oak. The finish is crisp and refreshing. Enjoy with chicken and mushroom risotto. |
Golden straw in colour with green hints, this wine had a coarse bead. The nose showed maize/barley/biscuit dough and vinous, grassy characters. The palate was fresh and dry with some toffee nougat flavour at the finish. Enjoy this sparkling Cuvée Brut as an aperitif. |
The Wolf Blass Eaglehawk Merlot is a vibrant red colour with fantastic cherry/berry aromas. The palate is typically soft with berry and plum flavors throughout, making this a very easy drinking wine and an ideal partner with food. The perfect accompaniment to pasta. |
