Today Wynns Coonawarra Estate is the Coonawarra's pre-eminent wine producer, with the largest holding of the region's best and oldest vineyards. The terra rossa soil and cool climate produce low yields of intensely flavoured grapes, and the resulting wines have long been regarded as some of Australia's greatest, known for their richness and longevity.
This wine is blended to capture all the elegant fruit character Coonawarra has to offer in a wine that drinks best when relatively young. Cabernet provides the flavour, length and structure, with shiraz imparting a spicy complexity and richness. Merlot adds softness. It is a finely structured and supple wine showing ripe plum and spicy fruit flavours combined with soft, understated oak. Perfect with Duck & Game, Pasta |
Oak plays an important but subtle role in this chardonnay with the varietal characters enhanced by an array of winemaking techniques to ensure complexity. As a young wine it displays a rich amalgam of melon, fig and citrus fruit finely balanced with vanillin oak. There are hints of butterscotch and roasted nuts from malolactic fermentation and barrel maturation. Bottle ageing is rewarded with increased richness, and peaches, cream and buttered toast characters intensify. Perfect with Chicken, Salad. |
An elegant, flavoursome wine which has earned a reputation for its premium quality, consistency and exceptional value. At Wynns Coonawarra Estate, riesling is made to capture as much varietal character as possible in a fresh, light-bodied and easy-drinking wine. When young, common descriptors include lime, apple and perfume. With bottle age it develops toast, orange and apricot nuances. Perfect with Seafood, Salad. |
Wynns Coonawarra Estate has developed a reputation for producing this consistently top-quality shiraz. It has aromas reminiscent of ground black pepper, mulberry and raspberry through to blackberry on the riper end of the spectrum. Oak is used to mature and increase the wine's complexity but not to dominate its distinctive cool-climate Coonawarra shiraz characters. Perfect with Beef, Cheese. |
