Tasting Notes > Wines > Yalumba Christobel's & Galway Vintage
Australia's Wine Communicator of the Year 2008, Peter Forrestal, word on Yalumba - "Yalumba is now performing stunningly in all segments of the market, from cask wines to it super-premium, single-vineyard Barossa shiraz. If you are looking for consistently good budget-priced wines, Yalumba is a safe bet.".
Pale straw in colour, the Christobel’s has a delicate and fresh nose of lemongrass and grapefruit sorbet. The light-bodied palate is lively and refreshing with mouth-watering acidity and crisp finish. A great food match would be fresh Tommy ruff fillets crumbed and served with lemon wedges. |
A continuation of the Galway heritage, the Galway Vintage Traditional Shiraz is cardinal red in colour. The nose displays aromas of dark chocolate, violets and ripe mulberries with complex ground spices. The palate has rich dark chocolate and mulberry flavours while the balanced tannins are typical of the vintage. A succulent finish to the wine is completed with hints of spice and clove from French oak. Partner with wild mushroom risotto. |
